I've always thought of salads as more of a warm weather food. Not much better with a meal than a cold, crisp salad on a hot day. But with the addition of picante, this puts a whole new spin on the old salad and I think I'll be actively craving it that much more. Imagine... a healthy craving!

This post couldn't have come at better time. I am on a salad kick. Last night I even thought about putting some Picante Sauce in the ranch dressing. But decided not to.

The next salad I will be using it for sure. I bet it is going to be great. Sounds so good!

Like Karen, I had never before considered using picante sauce as a dressing! What a creative and healthy alternative to dressings!

I had never thought to use Picante like this before! And I really love the idea of using tortilla chips this way. I've always been a fan of a crunch in my salad and I would imagine the Picante really coats those chip crumbles. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

Any other ideas to liven up the usual standard salad?

I do this! It's fantastic. Used in place of salad dressing, straight out of the jar. My favorite is grilled chicken or turkey. The Pace gives the salad a nice kick and a flavor that is a bit unexpected but really delicious. I occasionally add shredded cheddar or pepper-jack (or a blend) cheese and a dollop of Pace, toss lightly and enjoy! I have added a little bit of sour cream to make a more creamy dressing, but I really like the taste of a green salad with Pace picante sauce all by itself. If you like croutons, try adding slightly crumbled pita chips or tortilla chips.

Straight Picante? Or use it as an ingredient to make a dressing?

Use Pace Picante instead of salad dressing! Especially good on grilled chicken salad!
